Hi Eleanor,
I am not really much of a reader, but started
reading your book at 1:30
today and have just now put it down after reading
the last page. WOW!
What a great read through the ups and downs of the
memories of your
life. Meeting you through the Probus Writing
Group I had no idea of the
challenges you have had to face and overcome.
If not for your bedrock
of positivity you could have ended up bitter and
hateful. Instead,
these stressors have compressed the qualities of
who you are and
transformed you into a shiny diamond rather than a
lump of black coal.
Your book will be such an inspiration for anyone
going through hard
times to give them hope that even dealing with the
most unfair
situations and unloving characters they can still
triumph over evil
intent to bring good out of it. As a
Christian, I believe God sends
every soul to earth with gifts and abilities which
are meant to bring
joy and pleasure for ourselves and also the world
at large. I am
thankful you have developed your art and writing
during these later
years so you can share your gifts with others to
give us the joy of
beauty in your paintings and some words of wisdom
in your writing.
Using your special gifts is a form of worship to
your Creator and I for
one am happy that you have put in the effort to get
this book published.
I trust you will continue to write and paint
and I look forward to
getting to know you better through your future
endeavors.
Hi Eleanor,
I received your book and thank you so very much.
Would you believe that I have already finished your book! Once I start reading something that captivates me, I find it so hard to put the book down. I have to admire you for such honesty throughout the book (and also your great memory in reliving so much). Your survival skills pushed you to the limits in making sure that you were going to provide a life for yourself and your children. You never, ever gave up and I thought to myself that so many other woman would not have been able to push themselves the way you did and would have given up when faced with such adversity. Having the love and help from other family members though certainly did help. I would have to agree with that gentleman who saw you working hard outside that day at the motel that they threw away the mold when God made you! I am just so sorry that you had to live over 27 years with that monster you called "Al" but in the end you got your just reward. He was the "devil" in disguise but you didn't know that at the time and had you known earlier, I know that life would have taken you down a different path and quite possibly not the one that you had planned. I am a true believer that things happen when they do for a reason. I have never met Diane but just knowing her from facebook, I do see the same determination and fierceness in her just like her mother. She is a survivor and I am so sorry she had to endure what she did.
I wish you all the best in whatever you do Eleanor and wherever life takes you. You are an awesome woman and your family is so lucky to have you in their lives.
With warmest regards,
